AMHERST, Mass. – In their first and only midweek NESCAC contest, the Amherst College men's tennis team thrashed the Trinity College Bantams 9-0 on Wednesday. The match took place outside on Amherst's home courts.
The Mammoths began the match by taking a 3-0 doubles lead, with convincing victories at the #1 and #2 doubles spots and a close-fought 8-7 win at #3. The team didn't stop there, and used the momentum from the doubles to dominate the singles. Overall, the team relished another opportunity to compete outdoors on their own courts, after rain and cold conditions had forced them to play on off-campus, indoor courts in matches over the past weekends.
