#18 Amherst loses out to #7 Williams, 7-2

AMHERST, MASS. – The Amherst College men's tennis team suffered a difficult defeat to the #8 ranked  Williams College Ephs, when the two teams met on Sunday. The contest was played in cool and windy conditions on the outdoor purple and green outdoor courts on Amherst's campus. The Mammoths celebrated Senior Day prior to the match, honoring Harris Foulkes, Damien Ruparel and Will Turchetta.
 
Williams began with a lead in the doubles, taking 2 of the 3 doubles matches. The Ephs continued this momentum in the singles, with winning displays in 5 of the 6 ensued singles matches. The Mammoths battled throughout, but could not capitalize on several chances, and lost out during some key points which could have turned the tables in Amherst's favor.
 
Up Next:
The Mammoths now carry a record of 6-6 (3-3 in NESCAC). They will next take on the Skidmore College Thoroughbreds, in a non-conference match, at home, on Saturday, April 16th. This will commence at 1pm.
