CLAREMONT, CA – The Amherst College men's tennis team were defeated by the #5 Empory University Eagles, 8-1, the 2021 National Champions, in the Mammoths' final contest of the Stag Hen Invitational Tournament at the Biszantz Family Tennis Center in Claremont, CA.
 
Despite a hard-fought singles win by senior Damien Ruparel at the #1 spot, Emory swept in the doubles and won 5 out of the 6 singles matches. This result brings Amherst's record to be 3-3 for the season thus far.
 
Up Next:
The Mammoths return from Southern California to Western Massachussets this week, and they will prepare this week for a weekend double-header and home-opener versus Connecticut College and Wesleyan. This commences Amherst's NESCAC campaign. The first match will take place against Connecticut College at 2PM ET on Saturday, March 26^th. Play will take place on either indoor or outdoor tennis courts – subject to weather conditions.
