Mammoths fall to #5 Emory, 8-1

CLAREMONT, CA – The Amherst College men's tennis team were defeated by the #5 Empory University Eagles, 8-1, the 2021 National Champions, in the Mammoths' final contest of the Stag Hen Invitational Tournament at the Biszantz Family Tennis Center in Claremont, CA.
 
Despite a hard-fought singles win by senior Damien Ruparel at the #1 spot, Emory swept in the doubles and won 5 out of the 6 singles matches. This result brings Amherst's record to be 3-3 for the season thus far.
 
Up Next:
The Mammoths return from Southern California to Western Massachussets this week, and they will prepare this week for a weekend double-header and home-opener versus Connecticut College and Wesleyan. This commences Amherst's NESCAC campaign. The first match will take place against Connecticut College at 2PM ET on Saturday, March 26th. Play will take place on either indoor or outdoor tennis courts – subject to weather conditions.
