GAME HIGHLIGHTS:

* It was an 12-0 run the Mammoths put together over the second and third quarters that provided the separation in the game between the two teams. Down 6-5, the Mammoths scored six straight goals in the final 9 minutes, 19 seconds of the second quarter to take an 11-6 halftime lead.

* Six different Mammoths scored in that 6-0 second-quarter run. Tanyr Krummenacher tied things up 6-6 with a goal at 9:19. Brock Gonzaelz's unassisted goal with 8:07 left gac Amherst a 7-6 lead. Ethan Opdahl made it 8-6 with 5:20 remaining and Bayard DeMallie scored his second goal of the game, off an assist from Jake Bennett during a man-up opportunity, to make it 9-6. PJ Clementi scored his second goal and Carter Tate ended the barrage off an assist from Krummenacher with 1:12 left before halftime.

* Amherst then opened up the third quarter with six consecutive goals, making it 12 in total. A man-up goal by Alex Giacobbe off a pass from Clementi in the first minute of action got things started. Krummenacher then set up back-to-back goals, one by Brodie Rayment and another by DeMaille, to make it 14-6. He then scored a goal off an assist from Ben Bruno before Nicholas Kopp and Dylan Hsu capped the run and gave Amherst a commanding 17-6 lead with just over three minutes left in the quarter.

* The two teams played to a 4-4 draw after the first 15 minutes. The Bobcats had a 4-2 lead but late goals by DeMallie and then Clementi with one second left brought Amherst back even.
