AMHERST, Mass.-- The Amherst College women's hockey team got goals from
Rylee Glennon and
Kate Pohl Saturday night as it extended its win streak to six games with a 2-0 decision over Curry College at Orr Rink.Â
The Mammoths improved to 7-1-0 overall while Curry fell to 4-6-2 on the year. Amherst is off until Dec. 31st when it hosts UMass-Boston. Puck drop is scheduled for 3 p.m.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS:
* The Mammoths broke a scoreless tie 5:21 into the second stanza.
Anna Baxter received a pass from
Alyssa Xu and skated toward the bottom of the left circle. She deftly delivered a short pass back to Xu at the bottom of the circle now and Xu's shot was blocked. The puck caromed to
Rylee Glennon, who one-timed a shot into the top right-hand corner of the goal for a 1-0 Amherst lead.Â

Maeve Reynolds set up the Mammoths' second goal with 9:23 remaining in the second period. She stole the puck off a Curry defender in the back right corner and then delivered a quick back-hand pass to
Kate Pohl, who had skated into the left side of the right circle. Pohl, who had a hat trick on Friday, quickly fired a wrister that went into the goal under the arm of the goalie for the two-goal advantage.Â
BY THE NUMBERS:
* The Mammoths had an astounding 68-7 advantage in shots on goal. Curry goalie Soleil Archambeault made 66 saves in the defeat. Amherst goalie
Natalie Stott needed to make only 7 saves to post her 3rd shutout of the season.Â
* The Mammoths won 30 of 44 face-offs in the game, with
Anna Baxter winning 11 of 13 and
Jayna Park winning 7 of 10.Â
