Knerr Earns 200th Career Win in No. 6 Field Hockey's Hill Field Debut

AMHERST, Mass. – The Mammoths dominated from start-to-finish in their Hill Field debut, as seven different players found the back of the net to lead the sixth-ranked Amherst College field hockey team past Clark University, 8-0, Tuesday evening.

The win also marked major milestones for both the field hockey program and head coach Carol Knerr, with the contest not only proving to be highlight reel start to the Mammoths' tenure at the newly renovated Hill Field – a state-of-the-art, field hockey specific facility that includes one of the top water-based playing surfaces in the country –  but also standing as Knerr's 200th career victory at the helm of the Mammoths. Ranking as the 27th winningest active coach in Division III, Knerr entered 2021, her 20th season and 21st year with the program, boasting a 193-108 overall record before starting off the fall 7-0 via wins over Mount Holyoke, Bowdoin, Keene State, Hamilton, MIT, Connecticut College and Clark to reach 200.
