BRUNSWICK, Maine – The No. 2 Amherst College men's soccer team suffered its first loss of the season Saturday afternoon, with a Polar Bear score with 16:12 remaining standing as the difference maker as the Mammoths were edged by Bowdoin College, 1-0, Saturday afternoon at Pickard Field.
"Credit to Bowdoin for playing great," commented head coach
Justin Serpone. "They obviously deserved the win and I thought they were the better team all day today. It's hard to win games in this league, a fact that was just as true fifteen years ago and ten years ago, as it is today."
"We don't have much time to feel sorry for ourselves," continued Serpone. "We're playing a good team on Wednesday night. No one feels bad for us. We need to regroup and get back to basics."
The Mammoths make their return to the field this Wednesday, September 15 when they travel to Manhattanville for a 7:00pm non-conference matchup.
