Greensboro, N.C. – Making the trip to the Irwin Belk Track Complex in Greensboro, N.C. for the 2021 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships, the Amherst College track & field team registered two All-American finishes while competing in five events to close out the season with a gutsy performance at the national meet.

The No. 10 seed in the 10,000-meter run entering the national meet, sophomore Sophie Wolmer excelled in her first NCAA Championship appearance as the Tenafly, N.J. native crossed the finish line in 36:20.64 – just 1.01 second off her PR and qualifying time of 36:19.23 – to capture seventh place and All-American honors.

Back in action on day three of the Championships, Wolmer put her endurance on display once again as she bested her No. 13 seed mark in the 5,000m run by fighting her way to a new personal best time of 17:05.36 to earn a ninth place finish.

Taking to the track for the 100-meter hurdles, senior Ella Rossa represented the Mammoths' at the national meet for the third time in her career as she clocked a time of 14.51 seconds en route to placing 15th overall.

With a seed mark of 3:51.38 (No. 12), the 4x400 relay quartet of juniors Anna Madden, Sam Tichelaar, Katie Lingen, and Juanita Jaramillo looked to post the team's third straight program record-breaking performance in the event heading into the weekend. Logging a time of 3:50.59, which would have been good for an 11th place finish, the Mammoths ultimately took a DQ in the competition as it was determined that there was a step inside the line during the race.

Qualifying for the NCAA Championship for the second time after previously competing in the heptathlon at the 2019 indoor meet, junior Troy Colleran logged three new PR's to gut out an eighth place finish in the 10-event decathlon and secure All-America status. On day one, the junior registered a time of 11.33 seconds (7th) in the 100m, a mark of 6.85m (2nd) in the long jump, a toss of 11.68m (6th) in the shot put, a height of 1.88m (9th) in the high jump, and a personal best time of 51.42 seconds (11th) in the 400m race to close out Friday just 250 points off the lead while sitting in fifth in the 17-competitor event.

On day two, Colleran notched a time of 16.14 seconds (13th) in the 110 meter hurdles, a mark of 32.52m (12th) in the discus - his best mark of the spring in the discus and just .61m off his PR -, a personal best height of 4.40m (5th) in the pole vault, a distance of 46.14m (10th) in the javelin, and a PR time of 4:53.69 (11th) in the 1500m run to finish the decathlon with 6691 total points.
