AMHERST, Mass. -- Sophomore goalkeeper Mika Fisher has been selected as the NESCAC Women's Soccer Rookie of the Year, one of five Mammoths to earn a spot on the All-NESCAC teams as voted on by the league's coaches.

Fisher was picked as the First Team All-NESCAC goalie and was joined on the first team by a pair of Amherst seniors, forward Ruby Hastie and defender Kim Zhou. First-years Charlotte Huang and Patience Kum earned second-team honors.

Fisher is the first goalkeeper to earn NESCAC Rookie of the Year honors. She picks up the award as a sophomore after last season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Her .880 save percentage and 8 shutouts both lead the NESCAC and her 0.61 goals against average is second-best in the league. The Englewood, Colorado, native is the fourth Amherst player to win the Rookie of the Year award, a feat accomplished most recently by Alexa Juarez in 2018, who is now a senior on the team.

Zhou picks up her second All-NESCAC honor after earning a spot on the second team in 2019. Starting every game for the second straight season, the McLean, Virginia, native has been a stalwart on a back line that has held opponents to just 5.1 shots on goal per game and allowed only 10 goals in 17 games.

Hastie has had a breakout season as a senior, scoring 11 goals and adding 4 assists. The New Rochelle, New York, native has come through in the clutch in the biggest moments in the biggest games, scoring 5 game-winning goals this season, including overtime golden goals in back-to-back wins over Trinity in the final game of the regular season to clinch home-field advantage for the NESCAC Tournament and in the NESCAC quarterfinals.

Hastie's gaudy goal totals are second in the NESCAC only to her teammate Kum, who led the league with 12 goals. The Ghanaian rookie earned a spot in the starting lineup midway through the season and added 3 assists for a total of 27 points, including the lone goal in 1-0 wins over Littie Three rivals Williams and Wesleyan.

Huang has started every game on the back line in her rookie campaign, contributing to the stingy Mammoths defense that has posted 11 shutouts this season. A Bay State native hailing from Arlington, Huang has played at least 90 minutes in 11 of 17 games this season.

The Mammoths finished the regular season in a tie for first in the NESCAC standings, earning home-field advantage in the conference tournament with an overall record of 14-1-2 and an 8-1-1 mark in NESCAC play. Amherst enters the NCAA Tournament unbeaten in its last 13 games and will host first and second round action at Hitchcock Field. The Mammoths are ranked second in the NCAA Regional Rankings and were 12th in the nation in the latest United Soccer Coaches Division III poll.
