THE SERIES
Since 1948, Amherst and Bowdoin have met 70 times, with Amherst holding a 60-10 advantage. The Mammoths come into today's game riding a 12-game winning streak against the Polar Bears. In those 70 meetings, the Mammoths have a 29-1 record at home and a 22-7 mark in Brunswick. Amherst has scored 30 or more points in each of the last four meetings, while holding Bowdoin under ten points in four of the last eight outings.

Junior quarterback Ollie Eberth ran for two touchdowns and added one more through the air as the Amherst College football team used 453 yards of total offense to power past Hamilton College, 37-14 Saturday afternoon at Pratt Field at Lehrman Stadium.
Recording a touchdown in all four quarters, Jack Hickey '19 and Biafra Okoronkwo '20 each joined Eberth with rushing touchdowns, while Bo Berluti '19 hauled in a 26 yard TD pass. Andrew Ferrero '19 was the final point contributor for Amherst, knocking a 31 yard field goal through the uprights.
The Continentals got their points in the first and fourth quarters, as Kenny Gray barreled into the end zone on a one yard run before Joe Schmidt corralled a 21 yard pass from Gray with 5:54 remaining in the contest.
Amherst kickers Henry Atkeson '20 and Ferrero impressed for the Mammoths, with Ferrero averaging 51 yards on kickoffs and Atkeson sending four punts inside the 20 and two punts inside the 10. John Ballard led Amherst's defense with six tackles, while Barrett and Andrew Yamin '19 each recorded a sack. Sommer had the contest's lone interception.
LAST TIME OUT - Bowdoin
Tailback Nate Richam broke Bowdoin's 42-year old single-game rushing record with 288 yards on the ground, but it wasn't enough as the Polar Bear football team surrendered a fourth quarter lead to Middlebury and fell 37-24 on Saturday afternoon.
Quarterback Austin McCrum completed 20-39 passes for 206 yards with a touchdown and three interceptions. Olson (6-58, TD) and Michael Clopppse (4-42) led the Polar Bear receivers.
Joe Gowetski earned a dozen tackles (2.5 TFL) in the game, while Nicholas Leahy finished with 10 stops and Franny Rose had a pair of interceptions.
The teams combined for 1,035 yards of total offense on a day that also saw the squads combine for 95 yards worth of penalties and eight turnovers.
LAST MEETING
The Mammoths racked up a season-best 464 yards of total offense and held the Polar Bears to just 215 total yards as the Amherst College football team cruised past Bowdoin College, 31-14 on September 30th, 2017 at Pratt Field at Lehrman Stadium.
Ollie Eberth finished 14-for-26 for 254 yards through the air with a touchdown and an interception, while Jack Hickey recorded 118 yard on 13 attempts on the ground to lead the Mammoths' rushing game.
With six catches for a total of 136 yards, James O'Regan had a dominative performance for Amherst, while Bo Berluti '19 added 46 yards on three catches.
Andrew Sommer '19 notched a game-high nine tackles, while Andrew Yamin '19 had three tackles for loss (25 yards), including 2.5 sacks.
Dangerous in the secondary, Drew Bryant hauled in an interception and logged a pass breakup, while Nate Tyrell also got his hand on a ball to knock down a pass.
Griff Stalcup finished 12-for-22 for Bowdoin for 151 yards and two TDs, while Nate Richam led the Polar Bears with 56 yards on the ground. Bryan Porter and Nick Vailas each eclipsed 60-yards in the receiving game, concluding the day with 65 and 60 yards, respectively.
