Box Score CLINTON, N.Y. – Junior Sara Culhane scored three second half goals and added another in overtime to lift the 12th-ranked Amherst College field hockey team to a thrilling 5-4 overtime win over NESCAC opponent Hamilton College Saturday afternoon.

FIRST HALF HIGHLIGHTS
- Despite trailing until there was 15:32 remaining in the game, Amherst's energy and determination never faltered, as they outshot Hamilton 12-4 in the second half while trying to regain the lead.
- The Continentals would strike first, with Margaret Revera scoring her second goal of the season with 8:09 remaining in the first half. After a corner insertion pass found the stick of Aubrey Coon, Coon sent the ball to Revera who blasted a shot by Amherst netminder Emily Horwitz '17 from the top of the circle.
- Hamilton would find the back of the goal less than four minutes later to take the 2-0 lead. Corralling a loose ball inside the circle, Revera sent a pass to Merisa Dion near the penalty hash who rifled a shot past Horwitz.
- The Purple & White would cut the lead to one with 2:39 remaining in the half, as tri-captain Katie Paolano '16 notched her sixth goal of the year after one-timing a pass from Culhane past Continental goalkeeper Julia Booth.
- The Continentals would make it a 3-1 contest four minutes into the second period. Registering her fourth point on the day, Revera sent a bouncing pass towards Casey Brown who was able to redirect the pass into the netting.
- Culhane would answer 39 second later, one timing a pass from Caroline Feeley '18 near the penalty hash past the goalkeeper as she fell to the turf.
- Scoring twice in the next 20 minutes, Culhane would make the score 5-4 and give Amherst its first lead of the game with under ten minutes left to play. Her second goal of the game would come off a pass from tri-captain Annika Nygren '16 who lured the Continental netminder towards her before making the pass to Culhane for the easy tap in goal, while her next goal would be unassisted.
- Refusing to relent, Hamilton evened the score at five with ten seconds remaining in the game. Receiving the corner insertion pass, Aubrey Coon sent a shot towards net that was redirected into the goal by Dion on the left post.
OVERTIME HIGHLIGHTS
- Culhane would score her fourth goal of the game and team leading 11th of the season 13:30 into overtime. Sending the ball towards net from 35 yards out, the pass from Elizabeth Turnbull '18 found the stick of Culhane at the penalty hash and was tipped past the charging Booth for the game winner.
- The Purple & White held the edge in corner opportunities and shots, 11-8 and 26-18, respectively.
- Horwitz made six saves en route to her seventh win of the season, while Culhane led the Purple & White with shots on goal with six.
- Booth recorded 13 saves in the losing effort for Hamilton, while Casey Brown put a team-leading four shots on net in the outing.
