SPRINGFIELD, MA - Tournament MVP Annie Hoeksma (Los Angeles, CA) dished out a combined 61 assists in wins over Plymouth State University and Westfield State College on Saturday as the Amherst College volleyball team claimed the WNEC Invitational. The Jeffs, who improved to 6-1 with six consecutive wins to their credit, posted 3-0 victories over Mass. College and Pine Manor on Friday night to advance to Saturday's championship round.

Rookie outside hitter Kristin Quinn (Los Angeles, CA) joined Hoeksma on the all-tournament team, finishing with nine kills and nine blocks in the 3-1 win over Plymouth State (30-19, 30-10, 21-30, 30-28), and 13 kills and 10 blocks in the 3-0 victory over Westfield State (30-12, 30-14, 30-19).

Amherst returns to action Wednesday at 7 p.m. against visiting non-league foe Keene State.
