Jeffs Skate to 1-1 Tie at Conn. College

NEW LONDON, CT - After tying top-ranked Middlebury College, the Amherst College men's hockey team skated to a 1-1 tie at NESCAC foe Connecticut College on Friday. With the tie, the Jeffs move to 6-11-4 overall and 6-7-3 in conference play while the Camels go to 5-12-4 and 3-9-4.

Sophomore Joe Deck (Hamden, CT) tallied a goal less than a minute into the second period to give the hosts a 1-0 lead. Amherst junior forward Mike Kreger (Glenview, IL) netted the equalizer with 9:02 remaining in regulation to salvage the tie. Jeff rookie netminder Sean Lynch (Essex Junction, VT) finished with 28 saves while Steve Oven (Vestal, NY) notched 29 for Conn.

Amherst returns to action Saturday at 3 p.m. at league foe Tufts University.
