Jeffs Fall to Williams, MIT at Hall of Fame Tournament

NORTHAMPTON, MA - The Amherst College Volleyball team fell to archrival Williams 3-0 (30-26, 30-12, 30-24) and MIT 3-0 (30-24, 30-26, 30-19) in the championship bracket of the Hall of Fame Tournament, hosted by Smith College on Saturday. First-year Kristin Quinn (Los Angeles, CA) led the Jeffs with a combined 15 kills and 11 blocks in the two matches.

Junior setter Annie Hoeksma (Los Angeles, CA) added four kills, 45 assists and 11 digs, while classmate Nicole Davidson (Los Angeles, CA) tallied 13 kills and 21 digs. Defensively, senior co-captain Lauren Wong (San Francisco, CA) contributed a combined 15 blocks, and sophomore Kate Raddock (Stamford, CT) had 34 digs, giving her 74 for the tournament.

The Jeffs' fourth place finish in the tournament left them at 23-5 (6-1 NESCAC) and ranked fifth in New England. Amherst hosts NESCAC rival Bates College Friday at 8 p.m.
