CAMBRIDGE, MA – Senior forward Jenna Obelsky (Stoughton, MA) tallied a goal and three assists as the Amherst field hockey team opened its season with a 4-1 win at M.I.T on Tuesday. Fellow senior Abby Ouimet (Hatfield, MA), junior Christine Ryan (Summit, NJ) and sophomore Tyler Kelly (Bronxville, NY) also cracked the scoring column for Amherst.
Sophomore K.C Cosentino (Greenwich, CT) and first-year Anne McMullin (St. Louis, MO) split time in goal for the Jeffs. Cosentino posted a pair of saves in the first half, while McMullin turned away five shots in the second.
Amherst (1-0) returns to action Saturday at 11 a.m. against visiting NESCAC foe Bates College.
