CLINTON, NY - The Amherst College men's hockey team jumped out to a 3-1 lead on goals by first-years Beau Kretzman (Edina, MN), Jon Hill (Averill Park, NY) and senior Bob Miele (Woburn, MA), but couldn't hold on as host NESCAC rival Hamilton College (4-1-1) rebounded with a pair of second period goals to knot the score at 3-3, where it would stand through overtime. It was the Jeffs third tie of the season, as they fall to 2-2-3 overall.
Sophomore defenseman John McNicholas (Lake Forest, IL) added a pair of assists for the Jeffs, while Kretzman and Miele chipped in with a helper each. Junior goaltender Justin Jagher (Framingham, MA) finished with 18 saves.
The Jeffs return to Amherst for seven straight home games, staring with this Friday's 7 p.m. tilt against ECAC rival R.I.T.
