Jeffs Tie Wesleyan, 3-3, at Spurrier Tourney

MIDDLETOWN, CT - Amherst College sophomore forward Mike Kreger (Glenview, IL) knotted the score with 10:14 left in regulation before a scoreless overtime period sent the game into a shootout, where host Wesleyan University's Scott Rissmiller notched the only goal, sending the Cardinals on to the championship game of the Spurrier Tournament with what was officially called a 3-3 tie Saturday in Middletown, Connecticut.

First-year forward Jonathan Hill (Averill Park, NY) and senior co-captain Darren Reaume (West Seneca, NY) also scored for Amherst, while junior defender Erich Schram (Madison, WI) added a pair of assists. Junior goaltender Jaffrie Perrotti (Winthrop, MA) played all 65 minutes, plus the shootout, for the Jeffs, finishing with 19 saves on the afternoon.

Amherst (1-0-2) will play Trinity College in the tournament's consolation game Sunday at 1 p.m., while Wesleyan (1-1-2) will host Connecticut College in the championship game at 4 p.m.
