AMHERST, MA - Amherst junior setter Meredith DeMeules has been named the New England Small College Athletic Conference Volleyball Player of the Week for the period ending Sept. 18.

The Los Angeles, native tallied a whopping 154 assists (9.06/gm.) and 55 digs (3.24/gm) as Amherst rolled to a 5-0 record, including NESCAC wins against Bowdoin, Colby, Bates and Tufts. DeMeules added 13 service aces and 23 kills on the week, while her 51 assists against Bates was the highest total in the NESCAC this season.

DeMeules was a First-Team All-NESCAC honoree as a sophomore, setting an all-time school record with 1,265 assists in 1999.

The undefeated Amherst volleyball returns to action on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at non-league foe Keene St.
