Liza Katz ’25E joined the Amherst Women’s Soccer coaching staff and the Sports Communications staff as the Edward Hitchcock Fellow in January of 2025. She assisted the Mammoths to a 11-5-2 record in her first season, coaching three All-NESCAC, three All-Region, and one All-American selection. She also coached at the club level in the spring of 2025, leading Boston Bolts FC West's 2013 Premier squad.
Katz graduated from Amherst in December of 2024 where she earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology and biology. Katz was a member of the women’s soccer team from 2020-2024, winning three NESCAC regular season titles (2021-23) and three NESCAC Tournament Championships (2022-24). She led the NESCAC in assists in 2023, recording 10, and is third in program history for career assists with 20. Katz was a two-time College Sports Communicators Academic All-District selection and three-time Academic All-NESCAC honoree. She also played on Manhattan Soccer Club’s USL W League team from 2021-2024.
Katz also brings a wealth of experience in sports media. While at Amherst, Katz was a student worker in the Sports Communications office, as well as a Managing Sports Editor for The Amherst Student. She also spent a summer as a Media Intern and Lead Broadcaster for USL League 2 and USL W League Club Morris Elite SC.
