Kyle O'Dea

Kyle O’Dea joined the Amherst men’s lacrosse coaching staff as an assistant coach in August 2026 after spending the 2026 season as an assistant coach at Stevens Institute of Technology.

During his time at Stevens, O’Dea helped lead a defense that ranked fourth nationally in Division III in scoring defense. The Ducks finished the season 18-3, captured the MAC Freedom Championship and advanced to the NCAA Tournament round of 16. O’Dea coached two USILA All-Americans on the defensive side of the ball.

Prior to Stevens, O’Dea spent four seasons on the coaching staff at St. John Fisher University from 2021–24. He began his tenure as a volunteer assistant in 2021 before serving as defensive coordinator from 2022–24. During his time with the Cardinals, St. John Fisher won four consecutive Empire 8 Championships and earned four straight NCAA Tournament appearances, highlighted by a run to the NCAA quarterfinals in 2024.

Before beginning his coaching career, O’Dea was a four-year starter on defense at St. John Fisher from 2017–20. A two-time captain and Scholar All-American, he helped lead the Cardinals to their first Empire 8 Championship and first NCAA Tournament victory in program history in 2019.

A native of Victor, New York, O’Dea graduated from St. John Fisher University in 2020 with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and a minor in economics.
