• Four-Time North Atlantic Conference Champion at Husson
• 2023 North Atlantic Conference Coach of the Year
Diann Ramsey was named head coach of the Amherst College softball program in July 2023.
Ramsey came to Amherst after spending the five years at her alma mater Husson University as the head softball coach. In her five seasons guiding the Eagles, Ramsey compiled a 116-45-1 record (.716 win percentage) while winning four conference championships and making four NCAA Div. III regional appearances. Her teams won 46 of 48 conference games (.958 win pct.) during that stretch.
"I am excited to welcome Diann to Amherst and our department," said Director of Athletics Don Faulstick upon her hiring. "Her commitment to academic achievement, the student-athlete experience and culture really stood out to the search committee. I remember the energy, passion and grit her Husson team showed when they were here for the NCAA regional in 2022. She's a proven winner in Division III and a great addition to our staff."
A 2011 graduate of Husson, Ramsey was a three-year letter winner as an infielder on the Husson softball team from 2009-11 and a two-year letter winner as a defender on the Husson field hockey team from 2009-10. Ramsey earned a bachelor of science in psychology from Husson and earned a master's of science in psychology with an emphasis in sport psychology and exercise science from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in 2014.
A native of Otisfield, Maine, Ramsey attended Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School.
