Chase Worthen

Chase Worthen joined the Amherst College cross country and track and field coaching staff as an assistant coach in August 2025.

A former NCAA student-athlete, Worthen competed in cross country and track and field at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo (2016–2019), and Cal State East Bay (2020–2022). While at East Bay, she was a conference champion in the 1500 meters, a two-time all-conference honoree in cross country, and earned all-region honors in 2021.

Worthen holds a B.S. in Psychology, along with M.S. degrees in Special Education and Reading & Literacy. Prior to Amherst, she taught special education and coached high school and club-level cross country and track and field, helping to guide many athletes to state and national championship appearances.

A lifelong distance runner herself, Worthen is currently training for her first marathon.
