Coach Cook returns for the 2015 baseball season as PitchingCoach after a stint in the 2014 Perfect Game Collegiate League asPitching Coach for the League Runner-Up Newark Pilots.

After graduating as a member of the Class of 2013, Cook returnedto Amherst as the recipient of the Edward Hitchcock Fellowship forthe 2013-2014 year, presented to a member of the senior classinterested in pursuing a career in teaching and coaching.

A 2013 Academic All-American and two-time first-teamall-conference pick, Cook was named the NESCAC Player of the Yearin 2012 and the Pitcher of the Year in 2013. In the fall, Cookworked with the tight ends as a member of the football coachingstaff. This spring he will join Brian Hamm's staff as the pitchingcoach.

Cook was dominant during his senior season on the mound. Thenational leader in earned run average for much of the spring, Cookfinished second overall with a 0.95 mark and led the nation inwalks-plus-hits per inning pitch (WHIP) with a 0.77 figure. Lessthan three weeks after his collegiate career ended two wins shy ofa trip to the NCAA Division III World Series, Cook debuted for theAlpine (Texas) Cowboys of the Independent Pecos League. He becamethe fourth Jeff in the last three years to enter the professionalranks.
