No stranger to Amherst, Scott Foulis enters his first year on the Mammoth sidelines in 2021-22 after having spent the previous 14 seasons as an assistant and associate head coach at Brandeis University. While on the bench at Brandeis, the Judges made two NCAA Tournament appearances, reaching the national quarterfinals in 2009, and won the 2014-15 ECAC Division III New England crown. During his tenure, the program produced two University Athletic Association Players of the Year and the first State Farm Division III All-American in team history.

Prior to Brandeis, Foulis spent three seasons at Springfield College where he helped guide the Pride to NEWMAC conference championships in 2005 and 2006, and aided in the development of the 2006 NEWMAC Player of The Year. SC posted a 61-25 record in his tenure with two NCAA Tournament appearances, including a run to the national quarterfinals in 2005.

Before Springfield, Foulis was the first assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Bucknell University. While at Bucknell, he helped mentor 2003 WNBA draftee and three-time Patriot League Player of The Year Molly Creamer. Prior to Bucknell, he spent his first coaching stint in Amherst across town at the University of Massachusetts, where he was an assistant from 1995 to 1998, and again for the 2001-02 season. In his time at UMass, the Minutewomen won an Atlantic-10 championship and made trips to the NCAA tournament in 1996 and 1998. While there, he coached Jennifer Butler, who was selected in the 2003 WNBA Draft.

Foulis has head coaching experience on his resume as well, having led the program at Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts in 2000-01. He also served stints as an assistant coach at the University of Rhode Island and Plattsburgh State University.

A native of Amherst, Foulis earned a bachelor's degree in sports management from UMass in 1997 and his master's in athletic administration from Springfield in 2007. He and his wife, Jill, have three children, Chelsea, 18, Evan, 15, and Colin, 12.
