Born and raised in Kyiv, Ukraine. Nadiia Usenko joined the Amherst coaching staff in 2022 after a successful college career at Trinity College, Hartford.
Usenko graduated from Trinity College in 2022 (B.A. in Language and Culture Studies). Besides English, she speaks five languages: Ukrainian, Spanish, Italian, Russian, and Japanese.
She played in the middle of the lineup for Bantams (position #7 to #4). During her time at Trinity College, her team won NESCAC 3 times in a row. The squash team was ranked as high as 2nd in the country and advanced to the semi-finals at the 2019-2020 and 2021-2022 Howe Cup. In her senior year was named the captain of the team.
Usenko was given the "Outstanding Scholar-Athlete" Award her senior year for high achievements in academics and athletics.
