Dr. Greg Ciotionne- U.S. Board Certified Emergency Physician

Dr. Greg Ciottione is a U.S. board certified Emergency Physician and he has more than 20 years experience in clinical, academic and global medicine. He is an internationally recognized expert disaster medicine and emergency management. He has also served as a consultant in more than 30 countries. He an assistant professor at Harvard medical School and the Director of the Division of Disaster Medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. He also serves as the Medical Director for the Health and Safety Institute in Eugene, OR and a visiting professor at a University in Italy and one in Belgium. Ciottione in addition is the editor in cheif of the textbook originally named Disaster Medicine and then was renamed Ciottone's Disaster Medicine. Ciottione is well known is an associatie professor of Emergency at Harvard Medical School. Ciottione was heavily involved in the aftermath of the 9/11 terrorist attacks and worked at ground zero during that time implementing all of his knowledge about emergency preparedness and medicine.

Ciottione was born in Washington D.C. and grew up outside of Boston. He earned his bachelor's degree from Colby College double majoring in Biology and Chemistry. In 1981 he received his MD from UMASS Medical School also receiving the Society of Academic Emergency Medicine "Excellence in Emergency Medicine" award. Citottione completed his Emergency Medicine Residency at UMASS Medical Center and was selected to be cheif resident. he currently resides in Westminster, MA with is wife Amalia and their children.
