TAILGATE POLICY

Amherst College provides designated areas for visitors attending sporting events to tailgate. Visitors are asked to conduct themselves in a courteous and respectful manner and to adhere to the policies listed below.

  • No tailgating setups will be allowed before 9:00am.
  • No indoor space is reserved for tailgating.
  • Visitors using a tent or canopy over the tailgate of a vehicle should keep travel lanes open for vehicle traffic and should not take up space in other parking spaces. No tents or canopies with stakes are permitted.
  • No tents are permitted on the track or the turf.
  • No grills are permitted on the track or the turf.
  • No kegs are allowed.
  • No alcohol is permitted in the stands.
  • All tailgating must conclude 15 minutes prior to kickoff.
  • Massachusetts laws pertaining to the possession, consumption and distribution of alcohol and controlled substances will be strictly enforced.
  • Any unruly behavior that disturbs other tailgaters will not be tolerated. This includes but is not limited to drunkenness, vandalism, obscene or harassing behavior and violence or threats of violence.
