Rex Hudler is a former Major League Baseball player. Over his tenure of 10 years in Major League Baseball, Hudler played every position except pitcher and catcher. He was a first round draft pick of the New York Yankees in 1978 and spent 10 years in minor league baseball before being called up for his Major League career. He played for the Yankees, Baltimore Orioles, Montreal Expos, St. Louis Cardinals, California Angels, and finally for the Philadelphia Phillies. He also played a season in Japan in 1993.
After his playing career, Hudler joined the broadcasting team for the Los Angeles Angels and served as the color commentator for both the radio and television broadcasts. He currently serves as the broadcast color commentator for the Kansas City Royals.
Hudler is also the president of the non-profit organization Team Up For Down Syndrome, an organization that raises public awareness of Down Syndrome and provides support for those living with Down Syndrome.
