Jay Heaps - Head Coach, New England Revolution

Jay Heaps was appointed head coach of the New England Revolution in 2011. He is the second-youngest active head coach in MLS and is the first former Revolution player to become the head coach. Also in 2011 he was inducted into the New England Soccer Hall of Fame.

He spent 11 years in the MLS and starred as a defender for the Revolution from 2001 to 2009. During his career, Jay was elected as MLS Rookie of the Year in 1999 and advanced to four MLS Cups in 2002, 2005, 2006, and 2007. As a member of the Revolution in 2007, he won the U.S Open Cup and the 2008 SuperLiga Trophy. He ranks eighth all-time in games played in the MLS and ended his career with 17 goals and 34 assists. After retiring, Jay worked as both a television and radio color analyst and investment banker.

In 2009, Heaps played for the U.S National Team and earned four international caps. He also participated on the U.S. Under-17 and Under-20 National Teams.

Collegiately Heaps played for Duke University where he was a three-time finalist for the Hermann Trophy, a four-time first-team All-ACC selection and four-time all-region choice.
