Jamie Zimmerman, Amherst class of 1981, is the founder and managing partner of Litespeed Partners, a fund specialized in distressed debt. Litespeed Partners started with just $4 million in assets back in 2000, which has grown to over $1 billion today under Zimmerman's leadership. Prior to founding Litespeed Partners, Zimmerman was head of research for a risk arbitrage/special situations protfolio at Toronto-Dominion Bank.
Zimmerman graduated magna cum laude from Amherst College, where she was a multi-sport athlete. She went on to earn a master's in English literature and a law degree from the University of Michigan. After spending several years in law, Zimmerman changed careers and began working as a unior analyst in the risk arbitrage department of L.F. Rothschild.
