Bob Hurley is the basketball coach at St. Anthony High School in Jersey City, New Jersey. Coach Hurley has amassed 23 state championships and more than 900 wins in 35 years as a coach, creating a national powerhouse despite substandard facilities and financial limitations.
His 2003-04 team was undefeated and ranked second in the nation and the subject of the book, “The Miracle of St. Anthony”. Coach Hurley has never been a full-time coach and for most of his career was a probation officer.
He now serves as the director of the Jersey City recreation department. More than 100 of his players have received Division I scholarships.
