HADLEY, MA – Senior pitcher/first base Abby Moravek (Libertyville, Ill.) was named this week's NESCAC Softball Pitcher of the Week, the conference announced earlier today.

Moravek pitched a two-hit, complete-game shutout in game one of Saturday's series split versus Wesleyan, striking out a career high 13 batters and walking just three. On Saturday, the senior also surpassed the 250-strikeout mark for her career, going from 246 to 259 in one outing. The shutout was her first of the season. She also had a good day at the plate, going 4-7 with 3 RBIs and a double during the two-game day.

Amherst will return to action on Wednesday, April 8, facing Smith at home on the Amherst Softball Field. First pitch against the Bears is scheduled for 3 p.m.
