AMHERST, Mass. -- Senior
Abbey Skinner scored a career-high 11 points Monday afternoon to lead the Amherst College women's basketball team to a 74-42 victory over Lehman College in LeFrak Gymnasium.
The Mammoths snapped a three-game losing streak to improve to 14-4 overall. They will play host to Wesleyan Friday night at 7 p.m. Lehman fell to 4-14-.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS:
* Up 8 to 5 early in the first quarter, the Mammoths went on an 11-0 run to take a 14-point lead and never looked back.

Laura Mendell ignited the spark by knocking down a three-pointer for an 11-5 lead with 5:36 remaining. Following a
Nicole Stanford block, Mendell found
Annie McCarthy open and McCarthy nailed another trey for a 14-5 advantage.
Maya Cwalina then came up with a block that led to
Sylvia Liddle finding McCarthy, who then drained a third consecutive three-ball for a 17-5 lead.
Reeya Patel capped the run with a drive to hoop for a transition lay-up and the aforementioned 14-point edge.

Alix Stuart ended the quarter with a lay-up in the paint while being fouled, and hitting the ensuing free throw for a 22-7 lead after 10 minutes. The Mammoths hit 5 of 6 from the three in the quarter.
* The second quarter began with a Patel steal that led to a bucket in transition for first-year
Macie Nugent. Skinner then got on the board by grabbing an offensive rebound and scoring the putback for a 26-7 lead.

Kori Barach led the Mammoths with 14 points. She did not miss a shot, going 5 for 5 from the floor and hitting all four three-pointers she took in the game. Skinner shot 5 of 6 from the floor for her 11-point night, adding 3 rebounds, 2 blocks and 1 steal. McCarthy had 10 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists on the evening. Mendell finished with 9 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists.
Brooke Ingemi and
Anna Tranum each had 6 points, while Stuart and Nugent each scored 5.
* In all, 11 of the 12 Mammoths who played in the game scored.
* Amherst shot 48.6 percent (29 of 62) from the floor which included 54.2 percent (13 of 24) from beyond the three-point line.
* The Mammoths had 9 blocks in the game, led by Cwalina's four. Amherst had a 43-27 edge on the glass as well.
