WATERVILLE, ME. -- Elizabeth Hennessey scored six goals and had one assist Saturday to lead #5 Colby past the Amherst College women's lacrosse team, 16-4.
The Mammoths fall to 6-4 overall, 1-4 in conference play while Colby advanced to 9-1 overall, 5-0 in the conference. Amherst plays host to #6 Tufts tomorrow at 1 p.m. in Amherst.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS:

Ali Astrachan each had one goal and one assist for Amherst. Colby jumped out to a 3-0 lead as Hennessey scored twice in the first 5:13 of the game. With 8:06 to go in the period,
Marina Bevacqua put the Mammoths on the scoreboard when she converted a pass from Marcus to make it 3-1.
* A free position goal by Hennessey made it 4-1 Colby and Cami McDonald made it 5-1 with 54 seconds remaining in the first off Hennessey's lone assist of the day.
* The Mules extended their lead to 10-1 before the Mammoths scored twice in the final 2:32 of the half to make it a 10-3 score heading into the locker room.
Lauren Friedman had an unassisted goal and then Marcus and Astrachan team up for a score.
BY THE NUMBERS:
* Colby outshot the Mammoths 32-14 and picked up 14 groundballs to the Mammoths four.
* Amherst had a 19-5 advantage in draw controls.
Fiona Jones led the Mammoths with nine, while
Colleen Mooney had eight.
