GAME HIGHLIGHTS:
* Amherst took a 1-0 lead in the 16th minute Saturday. Stern received the ball just over the mid-field stripe and created some space as she dribbled toward the box. She got off a pass to Kum atop the box on the right side and Kum fired off a beautiful shot just ahead of a Cardinal defender's block attempt, guiding the ball across the way into the side panel on the far left side of the net for the lead.
* It was 1-0 lead at half but not for long. Stern again created some shooting space for herself atop the box on the left side of the Wesleyan goal and fired a shot to the short side. The goalie made the save but was unable to control the rebound. Juarez was right there to pounce on the loose ball, quickly tapping it into the open goal 6:45 into the second half.
* Just under nine minutes later, Kum netted a key insurance tally, racing in on a breakaway, having her initial shot blocked by the keeper but keeping her composure enough to collect the loose ball and deposit it into the unattended goal fro a 3-0 lead.
BY THE NUMBERS:
* Wesleyan finished with a 14-13 shot advantage. Each team had five shots on goal. The Mammoths notched six corner kick chances to Wesleyan's one.
* Fisher had three saves in the first half and two in the second to finish with five.
