NESCAC RELEASE

SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. – Junior goalkeeper Bernie White of the Amherst College men's soccer team has been named the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Player of the Week following a 2-0 week for the Mammoths.

Playing all 180 minutes in a pair of 1-0 shutout victories over Manhattanville and Hamilton, White was clutch for the Mammoths on the goal line in the two-game span. Totaling five stops against the Continentals in a crucial conference matchup, the Austin, Texas native tallied two of his saves in the final 12 minutes via highlight reel, full extension dives to lift Amherst to the one-goal win.

In five starts this fall, White has allowed just two goals to own a 0.41 goals against average.

White and the Mammoths return to play this Saturday, September 25 when they travel to Connecticut College for a 2:00PM conference battle.
