Box Score HARTFORD, Conn. -- Trinity College scored in the opening six minutes and the goal held up as the Bantams handed Amherst College a 1-0 loss in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) women's soccer action on Wednesday afternoon.
Despite outshooting their opponents 16-7, including 10-3 in the second half as they searched for an equalizer, the Mammoths fall to 8-6-1 overall and 4-5-1 in the NESCAC in their final regular season game of the year.
Amherst has secured the #7 seed in the NESCAC postseason tournament and they will travel to Connecticut College on Saturday for an 11:30 AM quarterfinal matchup against the #2 seed Camels.
Tricia Pollock scored just 5:24 into play, taking a feed from Samantha March and giving the Bantams a lead that they would not relinquish.
Chelsea Cutler '19 stopped two of the three shots that she faced, but Amherst couldn't beat Julia Pitino, who stopped all seven shots against and kept a clean sheet for the home team.
