Box Score MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – The No. 6/7 Amherst College women's basketball team had three starters score double-digit point totals as the Purple & White cruised to a convincing, 77-24 victory over Middlebury College in Friday evening's NESCAC contest at Pepin Gymnasium in Middlebury, Vt.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Amherst shot 42.5% from the floor and 34.4% from three-point range, and held Middlebury to just 18.6% shooting from the field, and 9.1% efficiency from long distance.
- The Purple & White were led by Ali Doswell '17 who scored a game-high 18 points. Jackie Nagle '18 contributed 16 points, while Meredith Doswell '17 chipped in 10 points. Both Haley Zwecker '16 and Cheyenne Pritchard '16 added nine points off the bench.
- Hannah Hackley '18, Ali Doswell and Pritchard each finished with a team-best seven rebounds, while Meredith Doswell, Ali Doswell and Zwecker dished out five assists each. Pritchard and Meredith Doswell notched three blocks each, while Zwecker registered five steals.
- The Panthers were led by Catherine Harrison who scored a team-high 11 points. Eileen Daley led the team with four assists, while Alex Huffman secured a game-best eight rebounds.
- Amherst forced Middlebury into 24 turnovers, and scored 28 points off those miscues.
FIRST HALF HIGHLIGHTS
- The first half saw Amherst hold single digits in the first and second quarters and run out to a 46-10 lead at intermission.
- Ali Doswell scored 16 points in the first 20 minutes, highlighted by a 3-for-3 effort from beyond-the-arc in the second stanza.
- The Purple & White was a stellar 55.6% from the field in the second quarter and 50% from three-point range in the period.
SECOND HALF HIGHLIGHTS
- The second half saw Amherst continue to pull away, shooting 47.6% from the field as Zwecker scored five points in the third quarter.
- In the fourth period, ran its advantage to as many as 55 (75-20) when J.J. Daniell hit a jumper with 6:38 to play in the game.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Ali Doswell now has 982 points for her career and is 18 points away from reaching the 1,000-point milestone.
