GAME HIGHLIGHTS

  • In a statistically dominant game for the Purple & White, Amherst outshot the Mules 16-4 while also holding a 10-1 advantage in corner kick opportunities.
  • Amherst got on the scoreboard with 39 seconds remaining in the first half. After a series of well-executed passes led to senior Rachael Abernethy getting behind the Colby defense, a goalie interference call was made against Mule netminder Samantha Rizzo for tripping Abernethy in her effort to make a play on the ball. Tabbed to take the shot, Guzzi converted on the kick.
  • Keeping up the offensive pressure in the second half, Charles would add an unassisted insurance tally for the Purple & White with 26:14 remaining in the game.
  • Goalkeeper Holly Burwick '16 recorded three saves en route to Amherst's fifth shut out of the season, while Guzzi and Maeve McNamara '19 each took a game-high three shots apiece in the matchup.
  • Rizzo registered nine saves between the pipes for the Mules, while Katrina Holt led the team in shots with two.
