CLINTON, NY – Junior Lindsey Harrington (Westford, MA) scored a pair of goals as visiting Amherst College defeated Hamilton College this evening, 5-1, in a New England Small College Athletic Conference women's ice hockey game at Russell Sage Rink.
Hamilton (3-7-1, 1-4-1 NESCAC) got on the board first with a power-play goal from first-year Christie Sharlow at 10:35. Senior Jodi Raymond and sophomore Lauren Tomford assisted. Despite the goal, Hamilton was out-shot in the first period, 9-2.
The second frame belonged to Amherst (7-3-2, 6-0-2 NESCAC), which out-shot the Continentals 16-0 in the period. Senior co-captain Megan Quinn (Wakefield, MA) tied the game for the Lord Jeffs with a goal off assists from rookie forward Braidie Campbell (Surrey, BC) and sophomore Michelle McGann (New Berlin, WI) at 3:03. Harrington notched the game-winner later in the period off assists from sophomore Kate Dennett (Highlands Ranch, CO) and first-year Courtney Hanlon (Fullerton, CA).
