NEW LONDON, CT - The sixth-ranked Amherst College men's soccer team fell 1-0 at NESCAC rival Connecticut College on Wednesday. Conn.'s Michal Kosac notched the game-winner in the 74th minute, dropping Amherst to 6-2-1 overall and 3-1-1 in conference play.
The host Camels' defense held strong as Amherst maintained possession most of the game, but could not find the net. First-year Mike Wohl had the best chance for the Jeffs late in the second half, but his attempt sailed wide left with 10:02 remaining and Conn. held on for the win.
Junior Dan Glenn tended the Amherst goal and had six saves in the loss, while Brendan Rampi and Jon Knights combined for the shutout for the Camels and had four and three saves, respectively. Conn. improved to 2-6-1 (1-4 NESCAC) with the win.
Amherst returns to action Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at NESCAC rival Colby College.
