14th-Ranked Jeffs Hammer Wesleyan, 6-0

AMHERST, MA - Juniors Ashley Harmeling (N. Reading, MA) and Tracy Montigny (E. Granby, CT) scored two goals each, while fellow junior Adrienne Showler (Ottawa, Ont.) dished out a pair of assists, as the 14th-ranked Amherst College women's soccer team posted a lopsided 6-0 Homecoming win over visiting Little Three and NESCAC rival Wesleyan University on Saturday.

Harmeling tallied her team-leading 13th and 14th goals of the season in the first half, and the Jeffs erupted for four more tallies after the break. Rookie Sarah Shea (W. Hartford, CT) and junior Kate Ferris (Newton, MA) joined Montigny in the second-half scoring column with their first goals of the season. Montigny, senior tri-captain Kay Bradley (Freeport, ME) and first-year Elizabeth Foley (Tolland, CT) each handed out assists in the win.

Rookie Jeanette Crowell (San Rafael, CA) and sophomore Emily Durwood (Shawnee Mission, KS) split time in goal for Amherst, combining for six saves. Senior tri-captain Jenny Hipscher (Brooklyn, NY) tallied six saves in the loss, as Wesleyan fell to 2-11 overall and remained winless in conference play at 0-7.

Amherst (8-3-1/4-2-1 NESCAC) returns to action next Saturday at 1 p.m. at NESCAC and Little Three rival Williams College.
