LOS ANGELES, CA - Amherst College junior guard Shannon Russell (Shrewsbury, MA) scored a game-high 22 points as the Amherst College women's basketball team improved to 7-0 with a 76-63 victory at non-conference foe Occidental College on Friday. 

Junior guard LaShauna Barboza (New Bedford, MA) chipped in with 12 points, while senior forward Sarah Walker (W. Hartford, CT) gathered a game-high 12 rebounds for the visitors. 

Sophomore guard Lindsay White (Corcoran, CA) notched 18 points for the Tigers (3-4). Amherst returns to action Sunday at 5 p.m. at California Lutheran University.
