Henry Notches Second Straight Game-Winner as Women's Soccer Edges Springfield, 1-0

SPRINGFIELD, MA – Sophomore sharpshooter Lee-Jay Henry (Springfield, MA) scored the lone goal in the 34th minute to lift the Amherst College women's soccer team to a 1-0 rain-soaked victory at non-league foe Springfield College on Thursday afternoon. Fellow sophomore Adrienne Showler (Ottawa, Ontario) assisted on the game-winner, as the Jeffs improved to 4-2 on the season.

The goal was Henry's second straight game-winner. She also notched the lone goal in last Saturday's 1-0 conference win over visiting Bates College.

Senior goalkeeper Brooke Diamond (Longmeadow, MA) notched two saves en route to her fourth shutout of the season and 28th of her career. All four of Amherst's wins this season – and both of its losses – have come by way of shutout.

Amherst returns to action Saturday at 11 a.m. at NESCAC rival Bowdoin College.
