Senior Mary Kate McGranahan had a September to remember, winning individually and leading Amherst to the team title in both races the Mammoths entered.

McGranahan earned the first win of her collegiate cross country career as the Mammoths opened the season at the Cardinal Invitational on Sept. 10. Setting a personal-best 5k time of 18:12.6, the New York native topped the field of 84 runners and led the Mammoths to the team title.

A week later at the Little Three Championship on Sept. 17, McGranahan again finished first with a personal-best 6k time of 21:38.8 as the Mammoths swept the top four spots to win their first Little Three Championship since 2007.

An economics major and six time NESCAC All-Academic selection, McGranahan earned All-NESCAC honors in cross country last season and All-Region honors from the USTFCCCA in both cross country and in outdoor track and field for her performance in the steeplechase.
