Senior captain Scott Romeyn of the Amherst College men's swimming and diving team won the NESCAC Championship in the 50-yard freestyle, breaking his own Amherst record in the event.

Romeyn broke the record of 20.10 that he set in 2019 with a swim of 20.06 in the morning trials to claim the top seed in the finals, then went even faster in the evening, clocking in at 20.01 to claim the NESCAC title, his first individual conference crown and second overall after he was part of the winning 400-yard freestyle relay team in 2019. Romeyn's time also set the pool record at Colby's new aquatics center.

Romeyn qualified for the NCAA Division III Championships with this swim that is tied for the fourth-best time nationally in Division III this season. Romeyn also qualified for the NCAA Championships in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 44.36 that ranks 12th in the nation and earned him All-NESCAC honors with a second-place finish at the conference championships. A computer science and music double major from Durham, Connecticut, Romeyn has earned 15 career All-NESCAC honors, awarded to the top three finishers in each event, over three championship meets.
