HADLEY, Mass. – Amherst College senior libero Katie Warshaw was named the NESCAC Player of the Week in women's volleyball as announced by the league office Monday.
Warshaw secured her first NESCAC weekly honor of the season after helping Amherst to a 3-0 week that included a sensational, 3-2 victory over league rival Bowdoin College. Against the Polar Bears, Warshaw led all players with 38 digs (7.60 per set), and totaled 64 digs for the week (5.33 per set).
She added eight assists, including four against UMass-Boston, and a service ace against both Bowdoin and the Beacons. The Purple & White secured a 3-0 win over Colby-Sawyer College, and a 3-1 win over UMass-Boston in non-league play.
Warshaw now leads the NESCAC in total digs (343), and is second in digs per set with 5.28.
Amherst returns to action Friday, Oct. 23 when it hosts Vassar College at 7:30 p.m. at LeFrak Gymnasium to begin the Hall of Fame Tournament.
