Benay Weintraub enters her second year with the Amherst Women’s Tennis program after being named Assistant Coach in 2018, helping guide the Mammoths to a 14-6 overall record and an NCAA Quarterfinals appearance in her first season.
Graduating from Whittier College in 2015 with a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology & Nutrition Sciences, Weintraub was a four-year member of the tennis team and also an ITA Scholar-Athlete. Weintraub earned her Master’s Degree in Exercise and Sport Studies at Smith College in May of 2019.
Prior to joining Amherst, Weintraub was the Assistant Men’s and Women’s Tennis Coach at Millsaps College as well as the Recruiting and Social Media Coordinator. She played a key role in securing the Majors’ Class of 2017 recruiting class, which was recognized as the #23 Women’s Recruiting Class by tennisrecruiting.net. That year the men’s team were Runners Up in the SAA Conference Championships.
Weintraub has experience at the NCAA Division II level having served as Compliance Coordinator and Assistant Tennis Coach. She has also held an assistant tennis position at NCAA Division III institution Rhodes College.
Weintraub is a 2017 Class 43 graduate of the NCAA Women’s Coaches Academy, now called WeCoach, and was recently accepted into the WeCoach Mentor Program.
Weintraub was born and raised in Memphis, TN, and is certified by the United States Professional Tennis Association.
