KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Senior forward Rubii Tamen '19 of the Amherst College women's soccer team has been named to the United Soccer Coaches (USC) Division III All-America First Team, as announced by the organization on Thursday night.
A USC All-New England First Team selection and the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Player of the Year, Tamen makes her first appearance on the All-America Team.
Tamen led the conference with 16 goals, combining for 33 points on the season. She anchored the offensive end with dominant performances over the entire season, including a three game stint where she scored two goals in each contest.
Notching seven game winners on the 2018 season tab, Tamen scored the decisive goal in the 1-0 win over Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), sending Amherst to the Sweet Sixteen of the NCAA Tournament. She continued her efforts as she scored in the 50th minute to tie it back up at 1-1 in the third round matchup against William Smith.
Tamen also received NESCAC Player of the Week honors (Oct 29) and received First Team All-Conference this season for the second year in a row.
Over the course of her four years, she has three consecutive 20+ point seasons with 32 total goals and 10 assists. She scored a career-high four goals against New England College during her junior campaign.
