AMHERST, Mass. – Junior Caitlyn Ryan of the Amherst College women's ice hockey team was named to the All-USCHO (U.S. College Hockey Online) Women's DIII Second Team as recently announced by the organization.
Voted on by USCHO women's hockey editors and writers, 18 student-athletes were named All-USCHO, in addition to six first-years on the All-Rookie Team.
Instrumental to a Purple & White defense that ranked eighth nationally goals against average (1.43), Ryan continues to rake in the postseason accolades, having previously been named a AHCA Second Team East All-American and to the First Team All-NESCAC. A consistent force at the blue line, Ryan paced all defenders in points and assists in league play with 10 and nine, respectively, en route to helping Amherst secure a 13-1-2 NESCAC record and the second seed in the conference tournament.
Finishing the 2015-16 seasons with four goals and 14 assists for 18 points, Ryan now has 49 points (10 goals, 39 assists) over the first three years of her collegiate career.
National Champion Plattsburgh led the way with six All-USCHO selections, followed by Adrian with four and Utica with three. One of just two NESCAC student-athletes named All-USCHO, Ryan is joined on the Second Team by Middlebury's Maddie Winslow.
